Saffire Convention Registration Grant

Rules & Guidelines

This grant is designed to enable an individual to receive one full registration to the Washington State Fairs Association Convention in Wenatchee, Washington at the Wenatchee Convention Center from October 22 -24, 2026.

  • Through the support of Saffire, two grants will be awarded in 2026. This is a full registration for the recipient.
  • A single registration entitles you to one name badge, entrance to all convention activities, meals, a program and number making you eligible for all the prizes to be given away.
  • Additional Individual meals may be purchased for $55 each: Thursday lunch, Thursday evening; Friday lunch; Friday evening; Saturday lunch.
  • Badges will be required at all meetings and convention functions.
  • If you are already registered for the convention, you do not need to additionally register for Super Saturday.
  • This grant does not include travel costs or lodging. The hotel information is located on the WSFA website with convention rate available until Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

Guidelines and Eligibility

Two (2) grants to be awarded in 2026
  • Must have never attended the WSFA Convention or have not attended in two or more years.
  • Must be from a WSFA member Fair (board member, staff members, or volunteer). All member Fairs must be in good standing.
  • Grants are not transferable
  • Convention Registration Scholarship is for the 2026 WSFA Annual Convention.

Procedure

  • Applications are due by Monday, August 31 by 5 pm. (See below)
  • Provide a letter from the organization’s CEO or Board President supporting the applicants’ participation in the WSFA Annual Convention if applying from a Fair.

Judging

  • Applications will be “blind” when delivered to the members of the scholarship selection committee, and will be given a “blind judging”
  • Judging will be based on an individual score. Each judge reviews each application individually and on its own merit, assigning a score to that individual application.

Criteria

  • Evidence of leadership & involvement – 3 points
  • Service to community and fair – 3 points
  • Outstanding character – 1 point
  • Essay – 5 points
