Event and Fair Supervisor

The Washington County Fair Complex is a 100-acre, multipurpose, year-round event facility that is home of the annual Washington County Fair and hosts a variety of other events. The Fair Complex is currently recruiting for an experienced Events and Fair Supervisor who will work in collaboration with the Fair Complex Venue Manager and staff to coordinate and oversee all the events and activities in the new 90,000 sq. ft. Wingspan Event and Conference Center as well as help expand the annual County Fair to 10-days in July 2020.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing large scale fairs, as well as organizing, contracting and producing special events, conferences, and exhibitions. Candidates should have demonstrated experience being able to work independently and collaboratively to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Individuals will have the ability to manage and produce high quality projects with multiple timelines and have effective complex problem-solving skills. Additionally, it is imperative the incumbent in this role will be an effective communicator and be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Education and Experience:
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in public administration, event management, or related field and three (3) years of experience in Fair, Event, Conference/Meeting, or Exposition management which includes one (1) year of experience supervising professional-level event staff. OR
  • An Associate Degree in event management, or related field and five (5) years of experience in Fair, Event, Conference/Meeting, or Exposition management which includes one (1) year of experience supervising professional-level event staff. OR
  • Seven (7) years of experience in Fair, Event, Conference/Meeting, or Exposition management which includes one (1) year of experience supervising professional-level event staff.

Salary Range: $7,252.76 - $8,812.86 per month
